I think everyone should calm their tits. I too enjoyed the first three splinter cell games and I too was a little disheartened at the e3 gameplay but I think they did make the game to be played both ways. We live in new times. Pew, pew explosions sell nowadays and if they hadn't catered to the majority at e3 this game would not sell.
The stealth is still there as the devs said if you so choose to play it that way. MGS4 did the same thing and that was still an amazing gam...
If you didn't buy starhawk and twisted metal you are missing out. Just because the game didn't sell well doesn't mean it's bad. I could have sworn this article was about Xbox and MS though and not the PS3 and Sony.

I think die is the wrong term, maybe some time off to come up with truly new ideas. Legend of Zelda has been doing alright, Square let me down with 13 and hopefully whenever vs 13 shows up it'll be amazing. I don't see the need for sims sequels or sports game sequels just update the rosters. Call of Duty definitely needs a little hiatus. Once call of duty was mentioned in this list it was become beyond ridiculous. It was laughable before (I mean why wouldn't next-gen continue the innovation) but that just put the nail in the coffin. Also I guess you could call fable innovating if holding hands in game is innovation.

Lol sure running on 800x600 res I said you could do it if you ran it in ancient resolutions with everything disabled or set to low. The game is unplayable in that state, but you know what it did run so I'll give you that.
Again like I said if you sacrifice all of the graphical fidelity and the bells and whistles that are exclusive to PC then sure you could get it to run horribly.

The Witcher 2 cannot be played on walmart PCs. You can play high end games on low end equipment if you sacrifice all the graphical fidelity and play at a super low resolution.
The witcher 2 still would not run on a walmart-ish computer because integrated graphics or low end gfx cards would simply black out once the game loaded.

What I will say is this I didn't know we were counting handhelds but if we are my rebuttal would be Sony spreading around flagship IPs across different consoles. 4 GoW on PSP and 2 on Ps2, Ps3. Good spread much better than 6 Halos on one system.
Secondly yes there may have been 4 uncharted games in the past 5 years but at least that was a new IP this gen. Let's talk about new IPs. ...

There have/will be 4 God of Wars. Two on the Ps2 and two on the Ps3. There have however been/will be 8 Halo's (6 of which have been on the 360) Halo 3, Halo: Wars, Halo: ODST, Halo:Reach, Halo: Anniversarry, and Halo: 4. This makes your argument invalid.

The witcher 2 was easily one of the best rpgs this gen but let's not forget it was a pc port and the game plays much better on pc. However whether or not Twisted Metal and Starhawk were as good as the witcher is subjective I was merely stating you cannot judge a game by it's sales.
