the only reason why they are making u install games is becuz the dvd drive is the main cause of the RROD. the dvd drive is positions right over the GPU. when the drive gets hot, the heat sinc thats on the GPU has no where to channel the heat away. so the thermal compound melts away and create a gap between the heat sinc and the gpu, which causes it to over heat. so if the drive is not being used when playing games, RROD will be less likely to happen. but MS messed up on the xbox 360 design th...
