The thing is Kinect wasn't made to be better than standard controls, it's just a new and fresh experience, and it could be fun. Why not play it sometimes, just for fun, isn't that what gaming is about?
I don't think it's because of the story. Sport, fighting, racing game don't win Goty because they dont have much room left for innovation. I mean they can upgrade new graphics, physics..etc, but the gameplay is pretty much the same.

I agree, the reason why some people were disappointed with GTA4 was because R* wanted to try realism, but tech wise, GTA4 is still the most detailed open world game out there.
I honestly think GTA SA had more details than SR2 even though
it didnt look as good. Sure you can make a game look good with more polygon, better textures... but it takes a massive amount of time, work and money to add little details like in GTA games. SR2 was fun, but I found it so lifeless.
they have Yakuza, it's like GTA mixed with Tekken. Dont get me wrong, it's a good series, but the tech used in Yakuza is kinda dated and cant compete with Western sandbox games like GTA, Infamous or RDR.
