Seems pretty spot-on to me. Different strokes, I guess.
Not to nitpick, but it is most certainly NOT the same game as Morrowind.
Oblivion, yeah, I'll give you that. Though I did like Skyrim more than Oblivion for some reason.
I didn't see a lot of flagrant bashing in the article, just pointing out some areas where Skyrim could have done better.
I definitely see where you're coming from, though, and it does give the impression that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing at IGN sometimes. But this is just an opinion piece, and only reflects the thoughts of the author, which explains some of the discrepancies.
Giving a game a 9.5, or even nominating it your game of the year, does not mean it is without flaws.
No game, no matter how great, is perfect. Being able to recognize those flaws is good for the industry, it provides feedback and perspectives that developers can use to make improvements to their games.
I would agree in the case of Morrowind. It is by far my favorite ES game, and one of my top games of all time if I'm honest.
Having said that, I still enjoyed Skyrim more than I did Oblivion.
Yeah, a lot of people in this thread don't seem to quite understand the difference between how PC GPU's work and how a GPU is used in a console. They don't need to put a 6950 in a machine that works on dedicated tasks.
If you look at what the 360 and PS3 launched with in relation to what was available on PCs at the time, you'll notice the same trend.
Not to mention there will likely be tweaks to the chipset to accommodate what MS needs/wants ...
I'm guessing either a spiritual successor, or reboot of "Another World" and I really hope I'm right.
If not, SOMEBODY better make this happen.
It's the same kind of tactics Pokémon used back in the day... well I guess they still do.
Oh well, the reviews for the game have been surprisingly good, and initial cost is nowhere NEAR $300. So, unless your kids are spoiled, or you're a really badass (or rich) parent, you don't have much to worry about.
It makes Shepard look like Slenderman, and not in a good way. "Fit" is good, but the black bars on top and bottom are way too big.
If that's real, I'm amazed. The music gives me a "Halo meets Mass Effect" vibe, and I love it.
For 1080p monitors. Set as background, go to personalize, set to "Center". Thank me later.
I'm sorry, but I think this guy is way off base. It's not a matter of integrity if you're just going to go off and write about how you didn't write about the game. It's like making a donation to a charity, then going around and bragging about it; kinda takes the class out of the whole ordeal.
I appreciate you trying to keep your integrity, and if that's what you wanna do, go for it, man. I'm not trying to offend you... but make the decision and mov...
Because of (supposedly) spotty hand animations? Read the review, even if it's only the closing thoughts section. They make it clear that Forza 4 is a very, very solid simulation.
Should have sent me a beta code instead.
Yeah, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.
Don't get me wrong, I loves me some console exclusives, but there are far more games that are PC exclusive that I adore. Sure, most of them are indie games, but that doesn't mean they can't be great.
You have a very good point, though in the books they do expand more on his human side, without sacrificing what makes him so much larger than life. Hopefully the game can strike that balance. The story of the Spartan; who they are, how they were created, and where they fit in the world now (in the timeline), is such an interesting one. I hope 343 can get it across the way it deserves.
Man, you know you're in for a good game when an 8.7 is the LOWEST score out there (at least that I've seen so far).
Can't wait for my Steam copy to activate!
Not to mention one of the most innovative (and most fun) multiplayer modes ever created. I'm shocked nobody has tried to do their own take on Spy's vs. Mercs. Sure, it started with Pandora Tomorrow, but Chaos Theory took it to a whole new level.
Sorry to say it guys, but they have a point. Capcom wouldn't have cancelled the game if they thought there was any way it was a worthy investment. I'm sorry to the fans of MML, but you are, by far, the (very vocal) minority.
I agree about the size, kudos to Nintendo on that, plus I absolutely loved my Gamecube... but it certainly wasn't the most powerful console of that generation. Not even close.
