Yeah when I first saw DKCTF, I was underwhelmed, but the more and more gameplay I watch the more excited I am to play it.
It sounds like you didnt play Xenoblade, because X has the same exact battle system, extremely similar enemy designs, those blue orbs in the overworld in the trailer for X are also in Xenoblade, theyre collectibles that fill your collectopedia, and the aesthetics of the overworls look identicle to guar plains on the bionis leg. All signs point to direct sequel. It does look like the sequel takes place a few 100 years into the future though.
Compare any PS4 game to Super Smash Bros, Xenoblade 2, and Bayonetta 2. PS4 games do not look that much better in comparison. The Wii U can still pull off gorgeous 60fps 1080p games.
Don't give ne that Nintendo didnt grow up with me bullcrap. After the 64, we got RE4 as an exclusive on the gamecube, Metroid Prime was dark, Zelda Twilight Princess got a T rating, ect ect.
I'm sure he's referring to how much kids play games on smartphones. A lot of kids today are growing up playing games mostly on their mom and dad's smartphone or tablet where they're free to a few dollars each.
I dont expect every game to use the gamepad screen, especially when it will just feel like a tacked on afterthought. In a game like DKCTF where the second player has no access to the gamepad, it doesnt make sense. It's just not useful in platformers where you're trying to focus on running and jumping and cant really take your eyes off the TV screen. It also doesnt help when there's co op in the game.
I would advise only some to buy a Wii U, but not everyone.
Get a 3DS and stop complaining.

Sales wise yeah PS4 is definitely positioning itself to sell more. I dont know why it matters though. I think fanboys should just be happy that there will be great games to play on across all platforms. Personally I will not be buying a PS4 ever, but I know that there will be fantastic software for it, and that's good both for the industry and for the gamers on that platform. I personally only care about 1 game and that's the sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles on Wii U.
Don't really care for 3rd party support (except Metal Gear Solid 5) when the Wii U will have the greatest lineup of games on any console available this year. Xenoblade 2, Beyonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. Wii U, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, FAST Racing NEO and tons of other indie games on the eShop?
And it will still be the same lol. Jesus christ, you Sony fans.
