The Switch objectively by definition of the word “generation,” is a 9th gen console whether you can accept it or not. Power does not define what generation the console is. 7th Gen = Wii, PS3, Xbox 360. 8th Gen = PS4,Wii U, Xbox One. 9th gen= only Nintendo Switch so far... then PS5/Xbox Scarlet.
This year the Switch has had the best quarter 1 sales on the NPD out of any of the current gen platforms. Neither the PS4 nor Xbox One have had this strong of quarter 1 sales numbers in either of their console lifespans so far. Switch is spanking the PS4
Let me tell you this tho... if Sony made a hybrid version of the PS4, I would buy that sh*t day ONE. There are so many JRPG’s and Souls like games on the PS4 that it would then instantly turn into my 2nd, probably 1st most played system.

Actually the reason given in the article was that the author prefers to play action platformers on joycons, because of the closer, more compact button layout. Nowhere in the article does it say it’s better because portability... READ

I normally play docked like 90% of the time I play my Switch, but I get a lot farther on the Switch ports than I ever did on Xbox One/PS4 versions of games because, I have a Switch dock hooked up to the TV in the breakroom at my work.
Being able to easily bring the Switch anywhere and game on any TV with a Switch dock makes Switch versions of almost any game the definitive version of that game for me. Switch is really all I ever play these days, and I own everything from...
DS4 lasts 4 hours (maybe that’s what the 4 stands for). Switch Pro controller lasts 40 hours on a charge, so your DS4 is not better in every way. Also the sticks on the Switch pro controller are off centered, which is way more comfortable than the symmetrical sticks on the DS4. And have you tried HD rumble? Another thing the DS4 can’t touch, but I guess you guys have a light bar, so that’s cool right? 🤷🏻♂️
