I'm sure the PS3 will be getting Splinter Cell with fixed bugs & extras too. If Microsoft spent that much money for GTA4 DLC and still lost it then their other "exclusives" will be on the PS3 too.
It would just end up like XBL where people have mics but don't use them. They would just have them on because they are required to but they'll probably sit them aside or mute them.
I also doubt this is true otherwise people would just sell MAG. Besides, selling it wouldn't be that bad of an idea with games like White Knight Chronicles & Heavy Rain coming out soon.

And since Kojima isn't directing it then the story won't even matter as far as the MGS universe goes. So not only will you have a flopped spinoff where you only play with the worst character in the Metal Gear universe but you'll also have a story that will be more like a poorly written fanfic.
