The problem was that it was spoiling the game, compared to Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3 had way more trailers, etc... and each new one showed more and more of the game

The Plane
The Desert
The Ship
They were all spoiled due to marketing

If ND was a PC dev, they would work wonders... but they are a console dev, and the are making the best of it despite the limitations

As someone who bought both sequences... they really did not add much to the story or the gameplay... and if they were parts of the game.. it would have hampered the story in my opinion, as sequence 11 ended very well, and the time skip was good... sure their excuse of "oh the animus data is corrupted, we need ten bucks" was a bad decission, but Ac2 had a good length, and if sequence 12 and 13 were included, people would have complained as they both would have felt unecessary, as seq...
It really depends on variety, and something that keeps the player engaged.
A good example of a game that lacked variety was Max Payne 3.... its still a very good game, but I couldn't play it for extended periods
Also short games are also disappointing, especially with the 70 dollar price range (force unleashed 2 says hello)
In the end a game needs to find the right length that keeps the player engaged, with out boring them

No the real question is "why do people follow the COD Cycle"
1) Buys new COD
2) Complains about almost everything about it, and says it sucks compared to the previous one.. complain nothing has changed, and then flame on videos, aggregate review sites, etc
3) A new COD is announced 4 months later
4) People complain in the first few weeks
5) After E3 people are all pumped up for it
6) The game finally launches, selling millions...
This might sound a bit off topic... but my biggest problem with the roster is the third party characters that were leaked and confirmed
It feels like the third parties involved in allstars are not taking it seriously, and rather are just using it as a cheap marketing stunt for their own upcoming games and they get money from it

I dislike COD for its lone wolf multiplayer, and the fact team based games (which I love in multiplayer) turn to garbage due to killstreaks
I never bought a COD with my own money, but I was amazed at the sheer stupidness of MW2's tactical nuke
