For most xb series owners, load times doesn't matter as it takes 5s to return to the game with quick resume. I wish this feature is standard for all consoles n pc in future.
Looks like it's running on unreal engine? Many developers just optimise for the more powerful console, then let unreal engine scale it down automatically for the less powerful ones, resulting in blurry visuals.
They're targeted at different audience. Some people dislike the Switch because they are not the target audience. There is no need to make everything into a toxic competition. I am happy the Deck exists for portable pc games, but it does not replace the Switch. We should also appreciate Nintendo for doing their own thing.
Lol, the fish looks better than the human.
This is how game optimisations should be done, and (proper) devs had been doing this since the old days. Much better than lowering the resolution resulting in random blurriness.
R-Type Dimensions have co-op.
Looks sick, but it's single player only right?
I facepalmed while reading the article.
Graphics are decent but the character animations look really average, like on a mobile phone game.
link doesn't work
I think you might be underestimating the Switch's hardware. I know it's weak compared to PS4/XB1 but it's still much more powerful than the PS3/X360 which most first/second party devs didn't have much problems optimising their games for.
It really didn't do much. Recently I've got a Mclassic to "upgrade" the graphics. It works really well but still becomes blurry at times when the resolution goes too low.
I really dislike variable resolution technique for this gen, I feel it makes devs lazy to optimise games. If it's like 720-1080p, it's not too bad, but 504-720p docked? Come'on. After more than a year of owning the switch, I'm still waiting for that patch to fix XC2's res/graphics which I now doubt will ever come. Heck, maybe they'll fix it in a remaster to Switch's successor.
This fight is better than the latest Terminator and Robocop movies combined.
Desert Screenshot: not sure if it's nitpicking but it's annoying to me that there are 3 trees in visible in the background and 2 of them are obvious duplicates.
@bouzebbal as of now yes, it will look more decent in 16bits. For this new artstyle they need to put more efforts into the animation.
I don't really like it and I've played SOR 1 and 2 to death on the Megadrive. Not sure if the problem is with the artstyle... if you pause it, it looks great. I think it's the incompatible combination of the modern art style and old school frame rate.. like the 2-frame animation many bad guys have.
I find it strange that a physical issue can be fixed by firmware but maybe Nintendo updated the sensitivity of the sensor.
@crazyCoconuts, replace the analog modules yourself from ebay. Really cheap and the unofficial ones work great.
| guess they are comparing to their previous games. Smoother but bigger and more complex, that's why it will be slower.
