I never understood why people would fork over money to buy the slim version of the previous consoles just because it had a new look. This however is something i can get behind. Now i just need a reasonable price point and a good trade in program for my old ps4 and i'm sold.
People have been complaining about games running at subpar 30fps this whole generation. Well this is your solution people.
Seems like square is going all in with this game. Speaks to how much they believe in this game's future.
Summoning can actually make it harder to get through a level. Most of the people who help others may be good at pve, but are terrible at pvp and can get wrecked by a single invader.
Dark souls games aren't difficult they are unforgiving. Once you get a grasp of the mechanics, learn the move set of your weapon/weapons of choice, and learn how to properly min/max your build the game is a breeze. The learning curve may be steep for some, but its there for a reason.
The difficulty is in place so that you learn the mechanics of the game. This isn't kingdom hearts(My Fave of all time) where you can mash a single button to win. The developers want you ...
Any rumors of this being the last were shot down with the announcement of FFVII Remake. Its way too early to try to rank a new entry in a series when it hasn't even released yet. Even when it does release we will need time to see where it ranks.
I'm patiently waiting for the ps4 release :)

The demo desperately needed a tutorial. I think square didn't put one in because they were trying to encourage exploration with the battle system, because that is what it is all about, free form combat. The combat system is as deep as the player wants it to be. You can either cruise through fights by playing defensively and strategically or you can try to play a more aggressive style by experimenting with weapons switch combos, aerial dodges, warp strikes, weapo...
This video explains almost everything about the combat system

looks like i'm going to have to update my mac os for remote play.
Love that this game is getting a NG+ mode. Looks like a lot more rpg's are gettting them these days. Here's to hoping for a large difficulty spike!
Waiting for this game has been unbearable. Namco giving people access to game almost a month before release and letting them show content made it even worse. I'm glad its getting a positive reception though. This will probably be my personal GOTY.
The gameplay sounds very shallow when you tell people how it works, buts there is actually a lot of depth to the combat system. The demo did a bad job of showing people how to actually play, so you can't blame people for calling it simple.
It just showcases artwork by Yoshitaka Amano and has an original track from the game.
The xbox install base is essentially non existent in Japan. Was this article necessary?
I played the demo to get a sense of how the new combat system works. IMO it works way better than the previous one that the ED demo showcased. So yes it sold me on the game.
**Note: pros and cons only judge the last part of the demo during the iron giant fight.
Pros
The hold to attack mechanic makes more sense now with the weapon manual weapon switching and allows for some interesting combos. Aerial attacks are really satisfying and jumping o...
The demo has Japanese voice over. I believe they confirmed that the full game will too.

I agree which is why I think the no exclusive content clause is vital for this to work. Sony has the ability to approve what games can be sold on their consoles so this could work in theory.
Consoles don't sell anywhere near enough to where they can release them yearly. They also don't sell for much of a profit like iphones do. So i don't see this becoming a yearly release.
The console argument doesn't really go out ...
