@ MWong I have rechargeable AA's and only had to buy them two times for this past generation. So people don't have to constantly buy AA's if they don't want too. Rechargeable batteries are cheap too.

Starting price tag cheaper yes, but if you are paying $60 for Gold then that is your fault. I have never had to pay $60 for Gold. I have always gotten it on sale. I have never paid more than $40 for Gold and a few times even cheaper.

I actually prefer my AA rechargeable batteries, never have to worry about having a cord strung across my living room for my dogs or kid to trip over. Plus when the batteries start losing a charge its cheap to replace them.
