Without Console EXCLUSIVE content or games Microsoft Xbox One or even Scorpio cannot change world wide sales! For couple months for couple countries they can sell good but on long term and world wide it is IMPOSSIBLE!

PS2 era Microsoft and Nintendo wasn`t powerfull enough on game console market. PS1 and PS2 was like Storm over the others.
But today lots of electronic device run games besides just PC cases.
Microsoft Xbox division has powerful games and staff other hands Nintendo trying different and hard with Switch, Microsoft already anounce Xbox Scorpio other side Tablet and Phones powerfull and giving more than casual games. So means lots of way to play games on different platforms.

Xbox One and PS4 only have USB 3.0 ports.
Basically USB 3.0 gives max 100mb transfer rate. So if you not using USB 3.1 Gen 1 or Gen 2 you cannot get any real SSD performans from your external drive.
So you don't need to pay for SSD. If you will use with USB 3.0 port. Not gone make much difference from 7200rpm external hdd. SSD transfer rates going 400mb to 550mb, USB 3.0 transfer rate between 100mb to 120mb max!
