Japan adopted bluray and HD for anime and everything else. I think all of their broadcasts are in HD. Japan is certainly NOT behind, in the US not ALL channels are in HD. Japan's internet speed beats the US as well.

If you have an older model PS3 you can get the game out by flipping the switch on the back off, then by holding the eject button and flipping the switch on the back on again the game will pop out.
