Sure, it’s a nice homage. But perhaps it could’ve been an interchangeable option, or maybe even a bonus option available once you achieve something in game...
I’m so glad someone highlighted this! It’s a bizarre concept to incorporate a midi soundtrack instead of an orchestral game in a current gen console RPG that looks and plays beautifully. Given it’s a lot more ‘realistic’ visually, I’d also expect a more ‘realistic’ soundtrack to accompany it.
The reasoning is simply ridiculous and I’m surprised the publisher’s granted the composer’s request to only include an inferior and unsuitable version of the OST, just to increase sale...
Yeh since 360 gamers are being told to keep their game saves too, then it sounds like they'll be having a 1up over the PS3 users. I'm sensing a port of the first game to PS3, and my spidey senses reckon they'll be releasing a boxset with both games maybe. Probably just a thought.

Since I played ME1 on the 360, and we are being told to keep our game saves, I'll be buying on the 360, even though I'd love to try it on the PS3.
Plus I don't know why but I hate that thumbnail image they used of Shepherd! Something about it, I duno.

Looking great! I can't wait to get my hands on this. Just finished playing Mass Effect, missing the storyline already, and this is sorta reminding me of a JRPG version of the game.
And regarding graphics, they look awesome from what I can see! Lush graphics add to the atmosphere and game experience and I think this is going to be a damn good experience! =D
I think when we say ‘midi’ we mean the same sort of music style that you achieve via midi.
It seems that it was probably intentional, but many including myself believe a less midi-like and more orchestral soundtrack would’ve been a much better experience.
