The Quest system really was a major "game breaking" problem for me. I try not to let one aspect of the game dominate the review as problems tend to do in other reviews. I let the score of the game speak for the value as I see it while delivering a more balanced approach to the critique as a whole. It seems to me that just because one issue is terrible that the rest of the game doesn't matter. Reviews today tend to zero in on one issue or downplay the rest of the game just becaus...
You have to acknowledge that Blood Dragon is built on Far Cry 3 which is already an awesome game on its own. The game would be far worse if it was built on a different game keeping everything else the same. However, like you said, the idea is unique and the game is definitely awesome and fun to play. Hopefully, other gaming companies will take a cue from this title and stretch the horizons a bit.
I understand that some could see this as some kind of publicity stunt, but I assure you, it was a simple mistake. We posted over 300 articles on N4G without any mistakes like this, but we are only human like everyone else.
We apologize again for the deception and we assure you it will never happen again. We are running an honest outlet and we hope you all can forgive us.
I know this is late, but this was just brought to our attention. There was a mistake in the code which called the application we use to create review stars but because of the error it failed to display the score properly and registered the default zero. I think it was evident by the review that the reviewer didn't find anything that was worth giving the score a 0. besides our system is from 1 to 10 so a zero isn't even possible.
We apologize for the error and I take c...
A lot of what made this game bad is based on expectation. If this was called anything other than Aliens Colonial Marines, it would be a sub par shooter. It isn't unplayable but the controversy comes from what was promised compared to what was delivered. They promised a beautiful, dynamic world and instead we got a boilerplate, unfinished world. Take it for what you will, either way whether pro or anti Aliens franchise, there are better games to play than this.
That's why it says "Part 1"
No matter what, the Vita version is an inferior product when compared to the console versions. If you have a choice, get it on the console. If you are choosing a portable version, the Vita version is the best portable version, as far as we are concerned.
definitely, it's a great game
Well the company that developed it was a brand new venture and they hit a lot of problems with the development cycle. This game was supposed to release at the same time as the move but was delayed til now. Now that the move isn't doing great, people just don't care about move titles and that is a shame since this is a decent game.
I have to agree with RedDead, just because it sells well doesn't mean its a good game. See Duke Nukem Forever. It sold like hot cakes and was a terrible game. I think this is a similar case. If you like it then that's great but personally I think it was a let down especially since it does very little for the RE canon.
Amen.
That is a pretty common problem, its one of those things you either love or hate. If you are unsure you should wait, these games usually go on sale after a few months and if you are a PS+ member you may get a deal on it even sooner.
It's a great shoot-em-up so if you are interested at all, give it a shot, you'll like it. Thanks for commenting!
I did play the demo at PAX East months ago and even on the forums if there was more than a few people complaining it would be a lot. If you feel that way then that is fine but again it is just a demo that has been out for months (its identical to the PAX demo and that was early march) to put so much faith in an old demo is going to far, if the final game was rough then I see why you would complain.
Its just a demo, how many demos have you played that gave you the complete experience you were looking for?
Brink is a good game, nice review
Yeah I see your point but I can't say that I agree with it. Many consoles you can just put the game in and play. The front end software exists because consoles do more than just game anymore. Now you can play music, movies and games so you have to be able to choose between one and the other. As far as them being old PC's well technology moves so fast that the second anything is released it is outdated. To make this fact a basis for an argument doesn't hold up. Games are sell...
It was inevitable for Nintendo to push their older titles especially since the consoles been out forever. I am surprised they didn't do this earlier.
Granted I am a PS3 fan myself, but to say the Xbox360 has no games is a bit harsh no? I get you like the PS3 and PC more and that's cool but to overlook games like Halo Reach, Mass Effect (up until recently), Gears of War 3 is a bit over critical. You may not have liked Fable 3 but it sold over 3 million copies, thats immense. You want to know were all the games are? They are available on both consoles and thats just the way today works. Why get exclusives when you can sell consoles ...
It is a great entry level device, easy to use, works well especially for Xbox 360. PS3 isn't perfect, but again for the price it works well.
