Honestly they really should've included it, and released the game as an "ultimate edition" like everyone else... But sadly this is how Nintendo operates.
The plus side is that it is included with + Expansion Pack, but many would rather not subscribe to that as well
It's crazy how this was one of the first games announced for the service too, yet we received unannounced titles before it!
This week is the first I've actually been able to log back in. Strangely it works better on mobile, and not at all for Fire Fox on desktop. So I'm using Chrome haha
Anyway glad to see at least some update regarding the situation.
Still working on my review for it, but yeah it isn't going to click with everyone... Even so, the game is a full on love letter to what gaming used to be, and those who miss the PS2 days should really give this one a chance! They went above and beyond with this remaster as well. Not many developers would be willing to invest so much time improving a game that was previously a total loss, but I'm glad they did!
Of course there are still some rough edges here and the...
Actually the Retroid Pocket doesn't come with ROMs, but is strong enough to emulate nearly everything up to Wii/PS2 (if you choose to use it for that reason). I personally use it for its streaming services, which allows me to take my PC, PS5, and Xbox with me on the go. It being compatible with Game Pass, and being able to play a decent selection of modern PC titles is a plus as well.
Yeah... It is kinda strange they chose to do that. In my case however, as a Civil Designer I'm unfortunately used to things not "lining up" or being uniform in the real world haha. So many site developments and roadways where things had to not look pretty and set off my OCD because there was no other choice. With Animal Crossing, I embraced the same thing and just accepted it! BUT it would be great if you could move key structures and make things a bit more uniform....
Update: The PR team got back to me and passed my message along to the development team. So fingers crossed haha
I've actually reached out to Battlefield's PR to see if they can provide an additional statement, but with something like this I doubt they can confirm or deny... But if I hear back anything, I'll let you know! For the time being, it seems to just be the general manager casually discussing thoughts on the future.
It was apparently mentioned by Battlefield's General Manager Byron Beede, but has not been released as an official statement.
The game is on sale right now for $5 on PlayStation!
On Meta Quest you got to "stand over" the playing field as if it were a virtual game board. So it wasn't VR from the perspective of the characters, but VR as "you" overseeing the game and its events!
Sadly the VR mode wasn't a part of the press release/information that they've shared
Very true. Personally I have a Retroid Pocket which was initially $130. Allows me to stream PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Game Pass, Amazon Luna, and my PC, while also contains the power to run nearly every game up until the 7th generation. So there are for sure more cost effective methods out there.
Surprisingly it has been in development for years, and they haven't been shy about sharing updates. One of the developers involved is Krystal's original voice actor also, so I'm sure they are on Nintendo's radar. What might keep them going is the fact that it's technically a "mod" for another program and not a stand alone game.
That would actually be amazing
You can still view it using the internet archive!
It is online! With Rollback netcode
Spent countless hours using that mentor system as well haha
The ToP2 version was actually the version private servers were already running on, so when it officially got released it left me and my friends confused. (If I recall it also added the Bleach knock off costumes?) I remember we spent so much time going for Rebirth to get the cool wings, but we ended up leaving the official servers before we reached that point.
The great thing about Private Servers...
It doesn't make them any better for sure! It just further shows how a good/fun game can be completely ruined by greed
In this case it is due to the timing and how mechanics work (such as balloons spawning in); however, there is no denying that they could've updated such systems—they just didn't.
