It actually has a decent amount more power. Were already seeing a difference in higher resolutions on ps4 games. It will only separate itself further as time goes on.
I'd personally go with a high end samsung.

Its pretty much the norm nowadays. Sure, there are a few unlucky souls out there. but overall not an issue at all. 1080p should be standard now, especially for a supposed next gen console.
They all look good because there all snapped shots doctored up in 1080p. There closups of cinematic videos. None of these are what your going to see when your playing, especially in motion. This is kinda pointless.
