I tried to put a lot more thought and research into my article than the majority of similar ones.
I don't want Nintendo fail, far from it. I'd be incredibly happy if they prove me wrong on every point.
In the article, I praise the 3DS and Wii U as being quite exciting pieces of kit. I'm just a bit worried about some of their overall strategies, missed opportunities and baffling decisions.
Actually, I'm not too fussed by the Vita. I'll be picking up a 3DS in the not too distant future as I do think it's a great bit of kit with some pretty neat games out for it.
My problem with it right now is that there aren't really any killer apps out for it that I haven't already played elsewhere.
I too am unconvinced by Rocksmith.
I actually couldn't care less about playing on a real instrument; in fact I want the opposite. I just want to jam out on five buttons and have a blast. I'm not interested in learning the real thing.
Interesting new art style - I wonder if this is representative of the final game, or if this is some kind of optional graphical filter?
Either way I hope they include the original pixel graphics - you can't beat the old-school flavour!
UK Resistance definitely never lacked for viewers. It was running strongly for 15 years, was frequently cited and linked to by Kotaku and Joystick as a news source, won several media awards and was one of the best known non-news gaming blogs.
If you bothered to read the article, or UKR itself, you'd know that the sole reason it got closed down was because the author no longer has any interest with the games industry as it stands today.
Oh man, you should check out some of their 'Old Favourites' on the right hand menu. There never was a funnier blog at UKR's prime.
Wow, this guy is super pumped about pinball.
I'll stick with Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs Capcom 3 for my quickfire arcade hits though.
If I had a PS3, I'd get this. I missed all the HD Tomb Raiders (and, well, pretty much all of them since the first one), but they seem like they'd be worth a punt.
Hope they decide to bring this out for 360!
It's not bad, but Puzzle Quest is better!
This and Dead or Alive will be the first games I pick up when I (eventually) grab a 3DS.
I never played this one, but I used to love Ducktales on my Gameboy.
I do remember the cartoon though, and it was pretty awesome. Shame Disney would rather pump out awful teen musical bullshit than quality cartoons nowadays.
Man, they never hire writers. And they're probably the studio most desperately in need of one!
:P
There's always room for more Mastodon on RBN.
How much does Xbox Live normally cost you guys stateside then? Because over here, it's £39.99 anyways.
But were we really expecting a budget, download-only movie tie-in to be any good? I mean that's like the unholy trinity!
I'm always up for free music, espeically if it features DEP! The rest of the bands are a bit meh, but for free I'll check them out!
The main criticism I've heard levelled at it is that it's too short. Maybe one to pick up on the cheap later on, because other than that, the single player looks pretty ok.
This kinda reminds me of Phantom Crash for the original Xbox. That was a great little game.
Really digging the Far-East cyber-punk look they've got going on with this one though. Hopefully it'll have loads of mech customisation to go with the frantic looking combat.
There are a couple of other notable absences on there - Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (which is nominated for several other awards), Cataclysm and Bayonetta for instance.
I guess they wanted more diversity for the public vote, rather than 10 core games.
Uh, Nordic Games have been going for a good couple of years dude. They're not a new company.
