Although it is a great game, Red Dead is a sequel. It is not a new IP.
I wonder how they tie in. Castlevania was pure brilliance. I wish it wasn't overshadowed by bad sequels this year. It was a GOTY contender in graphics, story, and gameplay in my opinion.

First time I got out of RuptureFarms in the first Oddworld, and was walking across the boneyard, I thought, "Wow this is beautiful." But that game is 150% visual beauty. So is Abe's Exoddus.

I think 3D works well. Metroid Prime and Arkham Asylum are two great games that utilize the explorative narration that the 2D CVs had. SotC and ICO are two games that can't really be hated. I am about 10000% sure only a small percentage of gamers have really sat down and played these two amazing games. I myself haven't fully experienced them(os the collection is a day one for me). But looking back at them now, many people who havent played them, call them a thing of shear beauty. Maybe. I loved the original but hated the hell out of Pandora Tomorrow for the stupid failures when you bumpinto a table and make noise. It was really frustrating. It's called boosting 9 times out of 10. It's cheating, takes no skill. I used to play with my buddies all the time when the javelin glitch was on MW2. We would jump off of the tower in Rust and blow each other up in mid air. It was funny for a little bit but nothing special.
