If someone doesn't have an HDTV, the Xbox One is essentually a 'brick' also.
Xbox one is too complicated to attract causals at this point. Think about it, how many of those COD sales play offline or have no Internet? how many of those have an HDTV? take those things away and COD becomes a shadow of it's former self on Xbox. Most assuming that causals will somehow understand Xbox one more than core gamers, is wishful thinking. From any logical stand point Xbox one doesn't make sense for the core or causal gamers. And any way you look at Xbox one WILL lose sales...

If gamers reject Xbox one and it doesn't sell, publishers will only be hurting themselves. Most can't afford to support one console as it is. Some maybe will, but like I said they'll only be hurting themselves and they risk getting boycotted against those who support the gamers in the end. Publisher NEED Sony on board if they want to be half way successful.

While Xbox one is DESIGNED to allow publishers control, PS4 is not(the reason there's no internet connection required). If publishers choose to block PS4 games it will have to do with their servers and not the PS4 hardware, meaning that there will be many games that doesn't require internet just to play like the Xbox one. Blocking PS4 will be like publishers putting Internet required to play across all of their games which would be financial suicide, especially considering there WILL ...
