T.M.I.
There wasn't much competition for Sony during mid-life PS1 and the PS2 era, and look how that turned out...
Just saying.
I don't think it's open world.
The Game Designer is tasked with designing "levels". Open world games don't really have "levels". Some may have "missions", but the job specs don't use that wording.
Furthermore, they have "multiplayer" specified. While few open-world games DO have multiplayer, I'd count this as another point against the possibility.
If it is open-world, however, then t...
I'm personally tired of Uncharted.
It was good while it lasted but I really don't feel like playing another Uncharted when I could be having a completely new experience.
A Degree won't get you a job in the game industry; A strong portfolio consisting of "Projects of Passion" will.
Start out with these, and see which aspect of development you're passionate about the most. Then start making stuff; With or without a team.

Umm, no. The 360 had a year long headstart on the PS3, with the PS3 catching up in sales.
You're not using "logic", you're using favoritism.
And wth is "screwer"? That's not even in the English language.
Monster Hunter is a niche title, but no one seems to dispute the fact that it's a system seller.
I feel that people are saying this, just because it's the Vita.
Yes, but we aren't talking about projects of the "same scale". We're talking about "most cases", as Neckbear stated.
OH WOW!
I didn't even see that game on the list.
I completely looked over that.
@kneon
While that may be true to an extent, I feel that you're overlooking a major aspect of E3.
With E3, most gamers who WILL watch(regardless of fanboyism) are going to watch each conference, no matter what their expectations may be. Some will watch to be amazed; Some will watch with a more negative mindset.
Regardless, the point still stands that each of the gaming Giants will gain exposure to gamers OUTSIDE of their already establish...
You mean VIII right? As in Dragon Quest?
I don't recall the game receiving much hate, but I could be wrong.
That's such an ignorant comment.
Just because one handheld is getting something desirable, you're going to disregard another handheld completely? What kind of thought process is that? Are you incapable of enjoying something from multiple sources?
This attitude is a complete skidmark on gaming...
If 2D games are now using 3D models, then you just admitted that the main concern for workload involved in the production of a 2D game is nullified in many cases.
On top of that, art assets created for a game such as Limbo or The Binding of Isaac have undoubtedly taken less effort to produce, than a game such as Uncharted or Beyond: Two Souls. And since we're talking about "most cases" here (check the OP), look at the majority of 2D games and tell me that more w...
I disagree.
2D Games generally take less work than 3D games. Especially on the technical side.
I do agree, however, that just because a game is 2D, that it should not automatically be set at a lower price point. I can see why this is what most assume, though.
Yeah; I'll just wait for its indefinite release in a future Humble Bundle.
I'd rather give money to a charity, than to a donkey scrotum like Fish.
@Moncole
You can't assume that there will be patches.
He's never even fixed the XBL release's save file issue, which was quite widespread....
You mean all of the work he ISN'T going to put in to ensure that Fez's PC release is up to par?
Or how about the work he put into fixing the XBL version's save issue?
I don't believe that s/he even knows what the word "Silence" means.
Worst Zelda in the series?
Are you kidding me?
It was easily one of the best.
Losing money on every console sold, is not greedy.
