The potential talked about now is Killzone 2, I have the beta and it is a different beast then any other console game, I'm not a fanboy but this game jumps the competition in graphics and realistic gameplay its just that damn good
You know they should just scrap the expected, the comparing to prequels, and comparing to other games and just score on fun factor

I'm probably repeating something someone else said, but as soon as I controlled the character, it felt like no other FPS. This feels so real, I mean the gun feels heavy as you swing it, when you toss a grenade there is animation as you bob up and down right before you throw it, and when you run its the most realistic running compared to any other FPS

I agree gears 2 will outsell R2, but if you have both consoles you get to enjoy two different kinds of games, but if you have only one console you get to enjoy the great things each gives you
With Gears of War 2 you get an update to part 1 when more monsters and bigger and the same awesome fun factor
With R2 you get a new kind of experience never before shown on another gaming console
Don't get me wrong, GOW2 is awesome and is a game like R2 I would play constantly, but what bar are you talking about, there isn't really any innovation from the game, yes the gameplay is a perfect 10 because well its fun, but innovation is something this title isn't
If you are talking about setting the bar for gaming, consoles, then R2 has done that with the 30 vs 30

Yeah when you kill a guy they writhe when they hit the floor and they animate wherever your bullets hit, and a head shot feels like a head shot because of the extra animation they put in
Yeah I think they made the movement a little too real, which some people like, but when playing the game it is just as good as that trailer and the gameplay videos people have been seeing are spot on amazing graphics especially in the sunny area of the academy map that is just amazing graphics, its COD 4 ratcheted up to the next 2 levels!!!

IMO Resistance 1 was one of the best launch titles for a system, and it really never was announced that it was. I just want these sites that have no business reviewing given credentials and shying some gamers away from a great experience just because they have the power of consumer awareness, where some of us true gamers can only tell other gamers about a game through less exposure, message boards

I guess you mean on the 360, because R2 has it and its 10 times more then this video and you need 8 people, you can still die easily. If you like that kind of stuff and you have a PS3 check it out you will be more then satisfied

Some people like mister #4 doesn't want variety to flourish, you have 3 consoles out for a reason and not just one, @ #4 you make your argument seem like a fact when it is not, what is this "special" it factor you are talking about, Resistance 2 has very much that factor with providing a multiplayer experience never before done on a console

It's funny how some people put down the PS3 for giving gamers a gateway to HD videos, everybody just dismisses the fact that a trojan horse is set up to where even moviephiles who only use the PS3 as a blu-ray player have a gateway to HD gaming, they need no new gaming hardware, and we are assuming these are casual gaming people, so enter LBP
