I am not sure but i think ND confirmed that U2 major cutscenes are pre-recorded video files. However they used the in-game engine and all assets to make these movies with post effects added later. This is my understanding. Therefore they are not rendered in real time using the in-game engine. ND since Jak used this method to load the game so as to eliminate any loading times.

Panda is correct in that uncharted custscenes are pre rendered movies using in-game assets.
How do i know?. If you put on a skin in Uncharted and play until a cutscene it will revert back to the original Drake because its a movie file being played. You guys should try it out.

You have split screen co-op campaign with two drakes and then when custscenes come along we only see one drake?
I know it dosent makes sense story wise to have two drake during gameplay and one in custscenes but Resistance 1 did this and no one had any problems with it.

Its the wow factor. For Uncharted fans like us that played uncharted to death the wow factor is less than say someone that just played U2 as their first Uncharted game which there were lots. This is also one of the reason why U2 is praised to the high heavens. People generally are slow couple with the fact that people didn't know much about uncharted until U2 because of Sony's suck marketing in 2007.

Is it the lack of MP?. Some one said it is short but to me it wasn't as it was a good 12 hours for my first play through.
@Washington-Capitals. Uncharted came out in 2007. MGS4 is in 2008. MGS4 is really is something else.
The controls are perfect for PC. I am not surprise that ME plays and runs well on PC considering its Bioware. Heck, even my 5 year old PC can run ME2.

Its all those small things that seperate it from the rest and makes you immersed in the world ND created. It's not just one thing. All together it makes for an almost perfect experience which is what the Uncharted franchise is. This why i said that when you play an Uncharted game you feel like you are on a great adventure.
