I too owns a DC and sometime game on it once in a while. But you have to remember that DVD was also predicted to fail just like what they were predicting for Blu-ray a few months or weeks ago. DVD was to PS2 as Blu-ray is to PS3. The movie playing DVD drive in the PS2 was a plus for the console as is the Blu-ray's movie playing is to the PS3. It is not mainly for playing movies.
Anyway, GOW3 is going to be awesome together with GT5, Killzone2. I still haven't finish LBP. Too many user-generated contents to play with and so little time in a day.
When PS2 was released, DVD was a new format. Everyone was predicting it will fail just like what Blu-ray is now. But as everyone knows right now, it is what won it for the console race.
