I think this is because of how well the ps3 was and still is supported. For me a ps4 was worth the purchase just for the sequals to tlou and infamous etc.
I saw this first hand last night. My friend got an xb1 and we where playing my ps4 while we waited. Xb1 takes longer to install I was like wtf is just COD! It took longer though I dont know why.
