I have no clue where N4G commentators get their understanding of business. They talk about Microsoft and Sony like they're trading cards, and always with this sense of "I know better than the company I buy from". Most of these "kids" aren't shareholders, investors, or entrepreneurs of any sort. They're simply consumers.
There was an article not too long ago discussing Sony's plan to buy Nintendo's chip factory. The first comment under ...

Hah, here we go. This is why you don't listen to random know-it-all gamers on N4G. They are usually wrong 99.9% of the time.
Even if it came from Sony's mouth, making a profit on day one with the vita is total BS. In the business world, this is called "driving up your stock".
THIS, THIS right here is EXACTLY what he's writing about. Ahh. Gamers, gamers, gamers.
Gamers are f**king stupid. I'd make a coherent statement about it, but the more I read comments on N4G, the more I feel like I'm perpetuating the de-evloution of our species. Gamers are f**king stupid.
@ninjahunter
If you think the U.S. government is anywhere near as corrupt as Russia's, I'd be a fool to offer you a rebuttal.
Sure. Go take a look at Russia's government. Then compare the two.
LOL I just posted a very similar comment and then saw yours.
This is N4G. Where the consumer even tells the creator what they're creating.
YES! Let's listen to the random man spending his time on N4G, and not to battlefield 4's Technical Director :D
Psh, what would Technical Directors know anyway.
Agreed man, simply can't wait for the next one. They said we'll have a new way to explore the galaxy, perhaps being able to customize your own ship? :D Ahh, so many possibirities.
@Godmars
Yes, I do agree. It just comes of as incredibly narrow-minded to read this article and simply think "even if they sold a million consoles?"
And this has nothing to do with the title being worth the price of admission. If we want developers to ensure a quality product, there is no room for thinking like that, especially this early.
There are just so, so many factors. Our opinions of what they should or shouldn't do with...
I will never stop seeing Mass Effect as a defining moment in a generation. Nothing of that scale has been done before it, nothing of that scale has been done since. The Witcher? a bonus path and a couple items does not equate to the import save system Mass Effect had going. I think one of the biggest misconceptions of this generation was Mass Effect 3. Mass Effect 3 in it's entirety WAS the ending. You said bye to old friends throughout the game and it tied up numerous story arches. Someh...
I hope gamer's will one day realize that development studios and publishers are not there for the soul purpose of our enjoyment.
I read these incredibly long statements and can't help but wonder how sad your lives really are. You talk about your game companies like you're tied at the limb. As if Microsoft doing better than Sony and vice-versa actually affects your life in meaningful ways. It's like you'll lose your house if you're proven wrong about something. How you care so much, is just sad. Grow up, and get your priorities strait, people. I love video games, but you people are an embarrassment. ...
Right? couldn't agree more. I always got upset when favorite survivors kept going missing. "Stop going out on your own Marcus, I'm worried when you go missing for a week."
Typical, self-eccentric gamer complaint.
@awi5951
Yeah, because when we import saves from the Witcher, WE GET A REFERENCE AND A BONUS PATH. Missed the point, much.
That sounds like some tidy PR on their part. Any human can put themselves in their shoes. How would you like it if your "fans" acted this way towards what you worked hard on for so long? Aside from that, a good 50% of those loving "fans" didn't import Shepards made in ME1. So, 50% of these "fans" never even experienced the entire trilogy, and then went on to berate it? ME was by far the best trilogy of any franchise last-gen. Nothing like it has done before, ...
If you don't like it, just don't buy it. I'd doubt the raging "fans" are hardly the "fans" Bioware would want supporting them anyway.
Here's an idea. Stop giving a damn if you're not going to buy it. *flies away*
