Yeah Sony is risking a great loss but this could be what pushes PSN+ over the "is it worth it?" hurdle. If PSN+ is going to cover this a lot of MMO players and PS3 owners could jump on this.
But it is a big risk but it could ultimately pay off.
@below: Yeah I see where you're coming from (on both sides). But in addition to attracting MMO players, I think it would boost a more positive image for PSN+ (if this is true).
I like both companies and I'm glad Sony is making a come back that started in 2008 and eclipsed in 2009.

There's nothing worse than a gamer doubting a game, it makes me wonder why even game if you don't understand these things or why they're done? I understand feeling a little strange about playing as an Al-Qaeda rebel soldier, but you're not supposed to think of like that.

Whatever Naughty Dog has in mind I'm good with, they do their research and take the game's characters and story to heart. I don't think it needs much really, from here all they have to do is refine and build.

With Resistance 2, you can do split screen on one console right? Cause every time I tried to do split screen it wouldn't let me or I think I was overlooking something.

Well true but you have to think of how Sony would like to take hype from the 3DS. It would be smart to release the PSP2 sometime after the 3DS at the right price. And more than likely the PSP2 won't be in 3D, Sony said "Handheld 3D isn't where they want it to be."
But that's why I think they'll take their time they should be looking forward to seeing how Nintendo will be pricing their 3DS and they can go from there.
