^^ I'm talking about Wii U vs PS3/360 not PS4/Next 360, of course it will not be on par with the latter.
As time goes by developers get more out of Wii U until the graphical difference between PS3/360 vs. Wii U becomes noticeably different especially in multi-platform games. After one year the difference is so obvious that Microsoft has to rush its next console out. PS3 can endure more, but possibly not more than 2 years.
I'm assuming that Wii U is 50% more powerful than PS3, not sure if that rumor is true.
A better question is: Can PS3 and 360 stand alongside Wii U?

They will still be supporting PS3 for 10+ years as they said, even if they announce and plan to release PS4 along the lines. The same thing happened to PS2. They planned a 10+ year support, even when PS3 was announced and released.

I used to be such a hardcore PES fan, and hated everything about FIFA with a passion. But now I'm the exact opposite. After PES 6 the franchise went to hell.

It's only logical to believe they will announce PS4.
1) PS1 released = 1994
2) PS2 announced = (1994) + 5 = 1999
3) PS2 released = (1994) + 6 = 2000
4) PS3 announced = (2000) + 5 = 2005
5) PS3 released = (2000) + 6 = 2006
6) PS4 announced = (2006) + 5 = 2011?
7) PS4 released = (2006) + 6 = 2012?
PlayStation 4 will be launched soon enough so the competition would not have an edge this time around. If Wii 2 is being released 2012, I see a late 2012/early 2013 launch for PS4.
