I am kind of blown away to be honest, sure the bike stands out but the environments look so good it makes the bike stand out.. the environments have such a realistic art style to them, they look pre rendered

Looking at youtube videos you can see there is at least one collectible item in the area behind the closed door by manipulating the in game photo mode. Your probably right about Bluepoint adding a new weapon to unlock.
They probably did not want to risk damaging the reputation of The Last Of Us in the eyes of the consumer.
