yes it does because it hows all the hypocritical people that Sony and PS3 still got it, and its a great console.
Fan hypocrisy
I think MS are really scared of Valve entering the console market, they know that valve are a big player when it comes to software digital distribution of well known PC titles and games in general. MS main claim to fame this generation of consoles was their xblive/windows OS which they used to nickel and dim their customers and exploit their kindness. Also MS connection with 3rd party PC studios is what brought some gamers to them who wanted a capable machine but didn't have the money. Va...
Sony is the only reason why im heavily invested in consoles, if SCEE didn't exist i would be a PC gamer full stop.
Why all the dislikes?
Pretty good but id prefer to see it normally and not rewinded
Quite possibly yes, Valve are trying to leverage their Steam service to other devices and are using ''the big picture'' as a means of doing so. Steam will most likely connect pre-existing users of steam to their next console as they have with TV's.
Valve is whats needed in the console game market and could possibly out sell the next Xbox/PS4 for a number of reasons:
1. They own 50-70% share of the digital distribution market for video games, so they already have a huge fan base/consumer network and have access to a wealth of digital games. Valve also have great support from third party publisher for consoles and PC exclusive titles.
2. Steam are primarily a software company so its easy for them to possi...

Oh goodness no the steam box seems more of an open platform without the atrocious gold membership subscription deal.
Yeah, exactly my point
I think in turns of pacing and story i think the Lord of the rings the return of the kings is a good example of how ending should be in games. I know its a movie but if game developers can transfer that level of pacing and story into an epic game there won't be any trouble.
Theres' only a few game & game franchises that i felt had a fitting ending and these were Max payne 2 (before the 3rd), RDR i feel had a good ending (son got revenge end of) and Bioshock 1. So ...
Splinter cell could quite possibly be the best series as far as pure stealth is concerned. Speaking as a person who loves the MGS franchise its not really a realistic stealth game. Sure MGS3 adopted the camouflaging ability in its gameplay which was great but the series as a whole is quite a quirky stealth experience that doesn't take itself serious.
Splinter cell uses the elements of darkness & light, concealment as well as sound. Whilst the MGS series uses sound &a...
Good choice from id going next gen was the right thing, cant wait to see what they have in store for the next Doom.
Lol the exact same thing i was thinking
This situation is a double edged sword for Sony as if this patent is real and Sony do decide to use this ID system for their future games this could destroy their SCE division.
However i do have a nagging feeling that with this idea many third party developers could side with Sony and make great exclusive games on their system. This would help promote PS more and build favor with consumers over time.
But in order for this to work Sony need to:

This could be the first JRPG game i get in a long time, great to see the high review scores this game deserves.
I totally understand the need for corporations like Sony to block used games. Im sure this will increase the number of subscribers to rental game services if they're able get a license to unblock their games. I think this method would work better if subscription providers worked out a deal with game development studios to share the money made.
If all this doesn't happen i imagine this would be a great incentive for people to upgrade to PS+ with a monthly vote on game...
A bit late though but i hope Sony go with effective advertising(in North america)in the future to sell their consoles then these limited offers.
