Brand loyalty is dumb. This is not to say you cannot prefer one over the other based on the type of games they make but to be loyal to a brand for the sake of loyalty is one of the dumbest things you can do.
I prefer Xbox because of Forza, Halo, Xbox Live and the controller but at the start of the previous generation I was going to buy a PS4 instead of an Xbox One because of the DRM and Kinect debacle. Luckily the corrected course and I didn't need to jump ship.
