i must say, i've experienced the entire gaming generations from the Arcades through Consoles up until today but the that still reigns as the one game that leveled up my gaming experience to unparalleled extents, is DOOM. thank you id team, thank you Carmack and thank you Romero.

it's a great disappointment from id, a proof that their lackluster of desing and creativity. but honestly, it wasn't something completely unexpected, at least not to some.
it goes back to Quake II, the game was received with bells and whistles but many avid gamers did feel that something was not on par with genre definers like DOOM and Quake 1. some reviewers reconsidered their scores even.

Eternal Sonata one of the most beautiful games i have ever played and if it wasn't for the bad bad ending it could've been something a bit memorable story wise.

Carmack has made an unforgetable but hopefuly forgiveable mistake IF he's back to his senses and refrained from expressing such unwise press comments. i believe he will, he already is trying to do some damage control if not for the game, at least to hi personal reputation.
