You completely missed the point I was making. This isn't a typical FPS game, it's VR. The whole point is free motion, being able to move the gun where ever and however you like and unless you have motion points on your arm it would look un-natural.
That wouldn't work well because an arm has multiple joints and would just look rigid and stiff unless you have motion capture points on your arm. Using just hands is easier because you're holding a gun all the time so you only need basic movements.
I can see this game being part of e-sports, it's highly competitive and it would fit right in.
