Obviously you didn't read the article correctly, it clearly states how those features will not be available to people who choose not to update their PS3.
I'm really hoping for something like that but I don't think it would be something that a company like Sony would do.
Strange, considering how my 60GB still has those features.
So realisticly speaking the only thing I will be losing is a feature I've never actually used. I think I can live with that. :]
Besides, I think it's better to have the features in the first place rather than NEVER having them. ;)

Try using your PS3 for what it was designed for, playing games and watching bluray movies.
Anyway, it's your loss, you won't be able to download any future firmware updates or game updates.
That's just it, not many people used the feature but because Sony are REMOVING a feature it somehow entitles them to complain about it.
You guys who think it's nothing more than a April Fools job are going to be so disappointed when you hit update.

Well it helps to create a new level of immersion while playing, after all..this is why we've all bought a next generation console, right?
Hell if you don't care about graphics then perhaps you should stick with a Super Nintendo or a MegaDrive.
