only next-gen console i own is a ps3,360 never appealed to me after hearing about the rrod failure rates,that scared me sh!tless!
but if a standalone hd-dvd player came about cheap and i mean dirt cheap of corse id buy one,films like the matrix and transformers,bourne triology in hi-def yup thats for me

but i dont buy a movie watch it once and then forget about it,i like a collection for when the mood takes you to watch what you want when you want ,personally transformers would get alot usage out of me
who knows some hd-dvd movies might go the way of 'samba de amigo' on dreamcast and become collector items

just because the format got murked by bluray doesnt mean the hd-dvd movies you own are worthless!
when a hd-dvd player goes down to £20 ill buy one,theres still some fine movies out on that format.
so strange to read its like the roles have reversed from last year,ps3 recieving positive news and the 360's news not so good, its all just very hard to get used to after all the predicted doom and gloom for sonys 3rd console
have tried rpg's in japan-failed
casual games in europe- failed
hardcore shooters- success
microsoft just havnt got the know how or are known for that genre which is a shame because competition is good and kills complacency which sony learnt the hard way at the start of this gen,kudos to microsoft they really are trying no one can deny that
the hardware sales for psp when this released in the UK
furthermore if god of 3 is released this year as hinted at imagine the ps3 hardware sales

sony were concentrating on bluray and let a few exclusives slip,now bluray is in the bag its one less thing to concentrate on, so now they can concentrate on getting their game library up with exclusives,just like i said in my earlier comment sonarus its not very hard to understand

me personally i opted for a ps3 due to potential,after reading from numerous developers that they have reached 95% of what the 360 could do consdering the console war has just started that put me off and also given the fact i love mgs4 it was a no brainer.
i have been tempted many a time in 2007 to purchase a 360 mainly when dead rising and bioshock came out and when ps3 was getting bad press but i decided to stick.
