if you can- get an Xbox 360, Wii and the PS3... the best of all worlds- right now I am enjoying Boom Blox on the Wii, watching bluray movies on the PS3 and playing Rockband on the xbox 360.... I never get rid of my old systems- my playstation 1 and N64 still work... when my kids get a little older they can play the playstation 1 and N64 games in their rooms....
For me, it does not matter who is leading in sales numbers- I own all three current gen. systems- each has something special- I think it is good for gamers to have three viable systems competing for gamers- we win. I can't stand when someone takes who is in the lead personally because last time I checked nobody is sending me money because the Wii is winning or that Sony is starting to build momentum- as long as all three systems are being supported and being pushed- we win- there is something...
The fact that I paid $127 for the HD DVD addon and received 6 free movies plus I purchased 300, Transformers and Shrek 3- which will continue to work years from now- I am not too upset.
I have a PS3 and my future HD movie purchases will be Bluray... I hope as more and more people buy into bluray- the movie prices will come down- I don't like $30 movies- I prefer $20 and under.
I want the original Star Fox...
I am 35 years old with a beautiful wife and two Kids (3 yo girl and 15 month boy). I am in the position to afford all the systems and a big HD TV. Playing video games helps me relax and I can't wait till my kids are old enough to play video games with me. I have been enjoying games since the Atari 2600- I don't ever see myself giving up playing games- I will always have the latest systems.
My wife and I enjoy playing rock band together- and soon my daughter will be able to join our band...
I have both an xbox 360 and the PS3- I believe I will buy the 360 version because of having LIVE and the force feedback steering wheel. I really can't tell a difference from the video but I am sure the PS3 version would look better on my tv because of HDMI connection (my 360 only has component), but I am still going with the 360 version (plus I like the achievements)
I am still having problems- especially staying connected and loading the dashboard- I feel they need to offer a free month to all the gold members during this time....
For me it really does not matter because I feel my HD DVD addon was still a good deal at $127 (plus six free movies - King Kong and 5 other HD DVDs). I have Heroes Season one on HD DVD plus 300 and a few other movies that will continue to work and continue to look good in HD. My PS3 will just have to be the source of future HD movies-
I would be upset if I paid $500 plus on an HD DVD player that will eventually offer no new addition content....
Cool, but I dont think this is exclusive to Xbox. If it is that sucks.
Plus side, Rock band tracks are at a nice price ($0.99) point vs the guitar hero tracks ($2.50)/ track.
160 points = $2.00 still a good deal- Rock Band does offer some songs for only 80 points or $1.00...
It's a fun game! I like how you can use your new songs to progress in the tour-
Microsoft wants to be like apple where they get people to upgrade every so many years... look at the ipod...
How hard will this be to find for the 360? I did not pre-order the bundle. I am hoping Sam's club is getting this.
I just bought the $399.99 PS3... while my 360 is still at the repair center...
Get a job and buy all three systems (period)- each system has its own advantages. Right now I own the Xbox 360 and the Wii. I have been without a working 360 since the beginning of August and Microsoft is dragging its feet sending me a replacement (I filled out a BBB complaint and I actually think that slowed down my case instead of speeding it up, but anyway). I will get a PS3 in the near future- especially when I upgrade my 55" Mitsubishi projection HDTV for a new 1080P 60" Plasma...
I can relate... this past week I called Microsoft 6 times- each time I was promised someone would call me back about my case (each time took about an hour and I talked to a different supervisor each time). I was given a time frame of when someone was suppose to call me- no phone call each time. I still am without an xbox 360- it died Aug. 11th (<-- that was my third one that died since launch). My case number has so many notes attached to it, but no one in a higher position has called me b...
I will be getting just the game- I plan on using my GH2 controller for the Xbox 360. I may buy the Rock Band bundle for the 360 (I really don't mind the wired controller).
I have a 360 and a Wii. I like the 360 a lot more (when it is working- still waiting for my 5th unit), but Nintendo has the casual crowd where mommy and daddy will buy the Wii for their 4 and 5 year old kids because they look cute swinging their arms playing Wii sports. The 360 and PS3 will be there when that 4 year old grows up.
I thought the new chips were suppose to lower the price of the console- I guess this will happen when the Halo hype dies down... I am still waiting for my 360 to be returned from Texas:(
If Microsoft could make a reliable system than I believe they would have a much bigger lead and be able to maintain it. My xbox 360 died again on Sat. (I am still waiting for the coffin- this is my 3rd time sending in a 360 since launch) and whenever I get a chance I'll spread the word how poorly designed the rushed 360 really is... there are many people out there with nothing good to say about the reliability of the 360- this is horrible PR for Microsoft- I am really surprised that people ar...
I am waiting for my box for repair... this is my 3rd time sending in a 360... I complained enough to get Viva Pinata (great:/). This is horrible... Microsoft needs to recall all the faulty designed 360 and replace them with a new design. The first time I sent in my 360 they had one day shipping... now I'm waiting about a week just to receive the coffin... Microsoft rushed the system to get it out before the PS3 and we are all paying for their mistake... sad thing is if your system is working ...
I have been a multiple console person since the days of the Sega Genesis and the Super Nintendo... currently I am enjoying the 360, PS3 and the Wii... each has its benefits...
