well your opinion is wrong, that was not the install base for those consoles in 1997. they didn't make FFVII for n64 because for one it was way more expensive since nintendo decided to use cartridges and secondly discs on the ps1 could hold more space.
this is the right direction nintendo should go in.
I can't bring myself to buy a vita unless we get final fantasy type 0 localized for vita. Which is obviously a smart idea but instead of getting that, we get a port of borderlands 2?? woop dee freaking doo....
Nobody is debating the quality of RE4, but the fact of the matter is that RE4 has nothing to do with Resident Evil period. The only connection that game has to resident evil is the characters that's the underlying issue. Not only that but because of RE4's success that sent a message to crapcom saying that the more action oriented approach was the right way to evolve the series when it wasn't, hence the reason we got games like RE5 & RE6.
1080p @60FPS should be the standard for this gen. At the very least, if your game can't perform to those standards then your game should be 1080p with a locked framerate of 30 FPS. games should not be dipping below 30FPS anymore as seen with the thief reboot that is completely unacceptable.
Yep, that game should have been a new IP instead of slapping the resident evil name on it. The only connection RE4 has to resident is the characters. That's it.
It may look better than anything xbox has in comparison but the quality of the overall package has yet to be determined. I would also like to interject that not every single thing about PlayStation has to involve This whole PS vs XB debate.

All sony has to do is just sell off their television business and then they won't be losing billions upon billions of dollars. Sony's TV business hasn't profited in 10 years, but yet they continue to be in space that is unsuccessful for them.
different developers dude, you judge the quality of a game based off another one that has nothing to do with it. that's like me saying after killzone shadow fall, uncharted 4 is gonna be mediocre. different developers, different series.
you know i would be pissed off if i spent 3+ years of my life working on game for it to be up and canceled. so it begs the question was the quality of this game even good, because i'm pretty sure we all know sony doesn't just up and cancel projects (ex: The Last Guardian). there must have been a serious quality issue for sony to do this.

I wouldn't necessarily say adding guns would improve dark souls as a series. all i'm saying that if they wanted to create DLC they should do based off this video it would be like this totally weird one off similar to what blood dragon was. it's out of the box and something no one would really expect, plus it could potentially be really fun.
This is amazing. Imagine if from software made DLC like this for dark souls II, i would totally buy that.. it would be similar to what blood dragon was to far cry 3.

doubt it, while it'll most likely be the most successful infamous game to date it's not going perform in japan. which is not necessarily unexpected because the japanese market aren't into these type of games. stuff that'll perform in japan are games like Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Resident Evil, Metal Gear Solid, etc.
I agree about killzone, that franchise defines mediocrity, what I do disagree is about the studios closing. Those other studios just didn't make appealing games anymore. Like really how many times are we gonna play wipeout & zipper was just a shell of its former self, they could never get back to their former glory. Incognito reference is sort of weird to bring up because they been defunct for awhile.
CLoS2 is not a GOTY contender but it's still a good game.
