Can have a Mario HD if they really wanted to but not this console generation, I bet thats what they play everyday on there PC, since you need a PC to create the games...

There is no need for a power adapter since it already is supposed to work with the slims, if you have a regular Xbox, most liekly a power adapter comes with each Kincet system.
If not, Microsoft is just being a money hog, cause knowing them the cord will cost 20$ standalone.
What makes it awesome, well once people buy the game it will be all over the news and it will sell more, people will get mad, but all it will do is make the game more popular.
Take MW2 for example...
