Well good for you. Wish you lot would shut up about it though.
The series doesn't have a continuing storyline. 30 more games could be released in the next few years, and none of them would hurt your memories of the original four. Live and let live.

The second half of this retrospective addresses your complaints- keep a look out for it in a few days.
I always knew splitting this in two halves was going to be frustrating, as I can't argue with you without spoiling the article!

"what does this game mean for the series?

it means they no longer care about the quality of the series, just how much money they can make off it."

A brief shift in genre for a one-off handheld title means nothing of the sort.

...So I take it no-one else is looking forward to Book of Memories, huh?

The article doesn't say anything other than 'horror games were good then, bad now'. You just list games you like, and games you don't, and never ask yourself why.

...Yes. Yes it does.

Admittedly not when you quote out of context like that, but yes if read in the article alongside the three paragraphs that justify it.

That's appreciated. Thanks :)

I would pick the game up immediately if I had a PC that didn't struggle running Peggle.

What Miyuki Miyabe set out to do (expand on the universe), she did fairly well. My point is, she shouldn't have set out to do it at all.

ICO's a really tightly bound game. It's relatively short, it's very minimalistic, and while a larger universe and mythology is suggested, it's never explained. For me, that mystery is what MAKES the game.
The book unravels everything, lays it bare to see- and it's dull. I couldn't help but find it dull. ...

I have brought it on myself haven't I! Thanks for the feedback, it's the closest to positive I've gotten on here :)

I openly admit the headline is there to bring in more readers, but I don't think its sensationalism reflects the tone of the article. Still, got no-one to blame but myself for any backlash.

Don't address the headline- address what I actually wrote in the article. Nothing you just wrote indicates you read it.

I've NEVER seen a single Star Wars film...ever. It's humiliating; I barely qualify as a geek. I've got a few years of catching up to do before even touching this game with a ten foot pole, and even then...well, yeah. Your review says it all.
