The difference that most people point out is that Sony have a long standing relationship that they have nurtured, many from the studio birth.

Microsoft have brought companies that were giants without the preexisting history that Sony displays

Personally, I think we need to not focus on the phrase cod killer. Let the games be made and then let then speak for themselves.

When I was younger, I lost a lot of time to this game, ridiculous amounts.

While costly, reworks and reimagining are part of the process and when done right, make a game better than it's original concept.

Sony introduced a tonne of integrated share options.

They both look at each others improvements and follow suite

I'd try any new resistance experience but if I'm being truly honest, my first instinct is that it would not touch the heights of the original trilogy and should continue to be a story driven linear campaign. Especially with the technology afforded in this gen, even linear can have a very open feel to it.
