I'd wager that some people here actually believe this. That Microsoft is going to deliver a crazy powerhouse of a system for 399$, taking a huge bath on every unit sold after having fumbled away most of their marketshare over the last few years.

A couple of things you don't seem to understand.
The Scorpio seems to be a long time away, at least a year but more 18 months. If they release it this year, they screw about 90% of their fanbase, not to mention their supposed Xbox Slim is dead on arrival, why buy a Xbox one or a Xbox Slim if in a year there is going to be a brand new one ( again 90% of the people think this way, the hardcore crowd will maybe buy it). MS has a huge pile of cash, for sure. We will see where that brings them, up till now 20 million behind. Sony made the cocky mistake with the PS3, and if MS announces a NASA console, fire breathing Xbox for a price of $499 they will lose money on every unit. But I am sure over at Sony they are sweating bullets now, and making sure there R&D does everything to counter it. Even lose money, they will after the succes of the PS4 never step aside.

Well, the exclusives is a matter of taste and personal opionion, but the price for sure. Money is universal. With a 1070 they can archieve 9 Tflops but comes with a hefty pricetag. 6 Tflops is overkill, for now, but the 1070 isn't even out yet so in a year maybe these specs are obsolete. But yeah, I think X1 fans should wait before cheering to much...

Well, it's good they support OR, but if rumors a true, which I doubt. The NEW console from MS is going to be expensive. A GTX980 has 5 Tflops, and I have a hard time believing MS can hit 6 Tflops without taking a big loss.
Well, In the end maybe it forces Sony to up their game and they announce that the NEO is optimized for VR and their "next console" is at 8 Tflops ^^

Depends, if it's good and packed DLC worth the price like the Witcher I am all in. But DLC like Ubisoft or EA or other greedy studios pumps out.... No thank you. Also better QA please, looking at you Bethesda.
