If safe mode is what I think it is Sony just added one of the best features to the PS3 and it will most likely go over looked. Goodjob Sony!
I highly doubt Nintendo would do something like that. It will be a new system and new games won't be playable on the old Wiis.
Gamecube only sold 24 million or so, I highly doubt the PS3 only has ~3 million more sales in it :o
I don't believe Wii will pass PS2 for 2 reasons:
1) PS2 is STILL selling.
2) Nintendo will replace the Wii w/ Wii-HD before the Wii can make it. Seeing the low price for Nintendo systems anyway, Nintendo will probably axe the Wii so the Wii won't compete w/ the Wii-HD.
I think I'd have to give you an agree.
The only way I'll know that Sony is taking Killzone 2 seriously is if they have a 30 or 60 second advertisement during the Super Bowl, preferably the ballet of death video.

Why?
They (at least my store) have only a 10% blanket sale on the store which still puts MOST prices above prices you can find for anywhere on the internet.
I wouldn't enjoy knowing anyone is fighting for their life or has a serious illness even if that person is an asshole, which he is.

@ 1.2: I agree on the Nintendo first party comment. If it's made by Nintendo, it will sell.
The problem Nintendo has is their new audience. I work Target - electronics and parents will from my experience 90% of the time rather buy 4 $10 games than 1 $40 or 1 $50 game. So they'd rather buy 4 shovelware pieces of garbage than buy Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Galaxy etc.
Again this is from my personal experience and I'm not saying it's every Wii game buyer out there but I think this is a significant portion. "Hardcore" games will keep getting price @ $40/$50 @...
Halo Wars will not flop.
The advertising they're doing for it shows NO GAMEPLAY. If they keep this up non forum users / internet users will just think it's another Halo without M.C.

If it's well done, does it matter if it's a rip off? PS3 users don't have a Gears type game so if it's a good game then why does it matter? If Epic won't bring Gears to the PS3 and there is a demand for a Gears type game then why rag on a developer for taking the time to make that game for the demand?
MS needs to stick to what they do best....software. They need to partner with someone on hardware, they can't do it alone. They don't have the expertise or connections in the industry.
edit: And before I might get replies about how MS software sucks too...when you bring in $60 billion in revenue in a year or something like that then you can tell me their software sucks, b/c the whole world uses it.
