But they're not the same as human players they are weaker and behave in a more predictable manner. They work in the same way as enemy AI in any single player game.
One you play it you'll understand 6v6 is just right the players are the elite soldiers who get to pilot the meks more then 6 meks a side would be too many. The Ai soldiers then flesh out the ranks but they are very much like single player Ai enemies rather than multiplayer bots and add a nice extra layer to the game play.
Your right that the consumer will decide but he's allowed an opinion and after playing the game at EGX I would have to agree with him. It's a very intense game and it left me grinning from ear to ear can't wait to play more.
Trouble is that there are more then enough people willing to pay the price so they'll keep charging it. The corps having nothing to gain from lowering the price at this stage as anyone who can't afford it will carry on buying the cheaper last gen games.
Also comparatively this is one of the cheapest console launches. When N64 came out the games were £50 - £70 which is over £100 in today's money.
It's fairly basic economics of s...
@Are_The_MaDNess I think your missing the point a little there clouda5 gave expensive as a reason not buy Next-console while at the same time saying PC was better in every way, which it isn't because PC is even more expensive then NG (for hardware anyway)
As for who'd want a gaming PC "that weak" how about anyone who can't afford it. Consoles from a hardware point of view have always been a good value proposition, not just on a direct comparison of hardw...
I've never understood the waiting for it to come down in price argument that many people give for waiting. I can understand it if you simply can't afford it at the current price. But if you can afford it why wait your just missing out on 6 to 12 months (or more) use of the console so your £/$ to month cost generally works out to be the same (if not better) by buying as early as you can.
If there are no games available that you want to play that's a genuine re...
@thezeldadoth - and then there are those of us who aren't elitist pricks who have high end PCs and games consoles as you get the best of both worlds and the choice of all the games.
I doubt this has detracted much from development of TR2 as all the improvements to the engine will be from the work they are doing for the next game and this will generate extra cash to fund development
Thing is, both system have clearly be designed so that the next gen consoles can use the same tech but faster allowing both backward compatibility and familiarity with the hardware. Which will allow for shorter cycles as all in development software work on the new platforms much like iPhones and Android phones today. You might even get a situation where a game will run on both PS4 & PS5 with the only difference being res or frame rate.
It's what happens when you have to put the copy protection in with less then 6 months to work on it. They just didn't have the time to implement anything different. They were probably expecting this but when the choice was between weak copy protection and no one buying your console they didn't have much choice.
"Microsoft officially launched the Xbox One in North America and a few other regions on Nov. 22."
WOW! "a few other regions!" That's the Examiner off my reading list then, when will some american's get down from their Ivory towers!!
It's quite a deep fan so should be ok. They've also got things in the right order blowing the air through the main heat sink and then the power supply.
The only concern re the over heating that has been hinted at is that spec sheet shows an operating temp of 5 - 35 degree (for anyone who still confused by this that's the range of room temps it can operate in not the CPU temp) which seems a little low, so you definitely don't want to have this in a confined spa...
Played Titanfall at Eurogamer expo and it is amazing. However firstly it'll be available on PC & 360 so it isn't by itself a reason to get an XB1 but is a nice feather in it's hat.
However as for this article it carries next to no weight as it's written by OXM who's very reason for existing is to big up the xbox brand.
Yes for the best possible graphics and mods PC is the way to go.
But that isn't for everyone, lots of people just want a device they plug in, turn on and start playing.
And for price arguments talking about the other features of a PC (web browsing, word processing etc) are becoming less relevant now that most people have smart phones and/or tablets. Plus the consoles themselves now do web browsing, music playing, netflix etc.
In not...
The big thing keeping me from going full on PC is EA's Origin. As it splits my social group, I don't want to have multiple clients running to keep tabs on what everyone else is playing.
PC for all it's upside just doesn't provide that complete package you get from the consoles at the moment. Here's hoping that SteamOS can change that.
For me part of it comes down to when I expect the price to drop. If there are going to be must have games before there's a price drop (which there will be) then you may as well buy the system now and playing multiplat games with better graphics to get the most out of your money.
Seems a little pointless releasing the games before the hardware anyway so why doe it matter?
It does seem like a lot of people misunderstand the whole 1080p thing. It's not about can the system do games at 1080p because it can, so can 360 & PS3.
What is important is what level of detail (geometry, lighting, effects) the system can support while rendering at 1080p60.
With these early games the devs haven't had time to optimise so they put more or less the same assets and effects onto both system and then tweek the settings to get a solid f...
Sadly IGN codex is crap so your not getting anything near a true idea of what it looks :(
Why should every game be massively multiplayer? Bigger isn't always better. 6v6 gives you the opportunity to play with a team made entirely of friends, it's alot easier to communicate and coordinate your strategy.
What do you gain from it being 32v32 it unlikely to change the number of people fighting in your vicinity.
Massively multiplayer can be fun, but personally after a while I start feeling insignificant. While in Titanfall you feel like youbmatter to t...
