The only FF I ever fully finished was VII which was last month, despite it being the first PS game I ever owned. I have no doubt now that it's the best game I've ever played and being a huge Metal Gear fanboy I consider that quite a feat.
I have tried playing IX and it's a great game but playing it makes me want to play VII instead: The music in VII is better, I like the characters more in VII, I like the art direction infinately more and the Materia system to me...
