Many Gamers actually thought Sony could, and you cannot blame them; before info about the clock issue surfaced, it was really weird that even consoles that had never been online would stopped working.

As long as the single player mode is satisfying then I don't mind.
This is damaging for Sony. Someone still needs to explain to me how in the world a PS3 that has never been online stop working because of this situation?

Every system, no matter how secure, fails at some point. I'm sure Sony is working on even tighter security so this never happens again.

@ Al Bundy, you make a good point. It'll be rough for them depending only on third parties, but who knows, contrary to what Pachter predicts, Apple could invest in first party devs.
No gaming company should live without internal studios. It's paramount imo.

You could say that but remember, Sony and Microsoft were not the first two companies in the industry.
Sega, Atari and Nintendo all were there before them. Nintendo still is; so if it wasn't too late for those guys, why can't Apple make its grand entrance and be successful?

The game will be good on both platforms. Square-Enix would not be wise if they didn't strive for identical gameplay and visuals on both consoles..
