That's why they should have included a beefy single player and online for guys like me and you, but I think it was the new engine that held them back because how long it takes to make one car with all the detail.
I am not into online racing games, I put hundreds of hours into 5 and 6 and I don't think I had more than three online races. I am waiting on 7 ...badly.

TW1 needs a full out remake, act 2 is literally 2+ hours of investigative fetch quests. Tw2 is was a huge upgrade.
I spent 80 on two years of xbox live and added a pound to upgrade to game pass ultimate for pc. That's two years and I get to play xbox games plus games like metro and shadow of war ,outer worlds …. I'm saving a lot of money. And if i ever want to keep those games, i'll wait one day and buy them physical if they are that good for multiple playthroughs. As a pc gamer I love game pass. And I get the xbox live games monthly if I ever get an xbox.
