I have to agree, halo is the better game. Cod has always had balance issues, be it grenades or killstreaks. Halo offers for a more user friendly and competitive environment with more ways to progress than camp and hope you don't get taken out by a predator missile before you get your pavelow up. And in regards to staying power, It's the modern CS of consoles.
The kingdom hearts games were some of my favourite games for the ps2. From the trailers, it looks promising. I hope they capture the mystical atmosphere of the earlier games, they were magical.
I think I've figured out how these websites work. A major announcement is issued for one of the formats. Reporters research the field and pit the consoles against these others, sometimes revealing new interesting information, and sometimes failing utterly and adds more tires to this giant mount of hypocrisy that is the console wars. Can you smell the rubber?
However, what's with these top 10 lists? I mean, the latter part of 2009 n4g was flooded by them. Sure, they do contribute to discussion and evoke responses and bring attention to worthy games but it's really getting quite tedious. "Top" is almost as relative as "best"..
Sounds good that it's getting the support it deserves. The technology is definitely immersive. I'd love for developers to explore new areas of gaming.
I'm all for people expressing their opinion, especially when it's done in an orderly manner. However, I do believe you are over-exaggerating your views on the graphics. They are by no means "bad", but they won't take home any awards in that department unless one considers the technical feat this game delivers. One of the points you make that is valid though, is the one about the player-base. For this game to be enjoyable on all levels of gaming, ranging from casual to a more competi...
Have you ever played Wintergrasp? Anything more than 200 players in the same zone will cause a delay of around 30 sec. This game does amazingly considering the amount of action that goes on in small areas. As you must know, the 3000 players you allegedly talk about are spread across multiple servers, instances and world servers and such. (Addition) Yet again you name MMOs whose engines have proven to be incredibly weak when handling massive battles in a certain areas. Aion did it better than ...
I am Obama of borg, you have severed your link to the collective. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. You will be chanting "yes we can" with the rest of the collective by the end of January 12th.
To the first poster in this chain, Aion does in fact have an endgame, and it is far more developed than wow's original endgame for that matter. Aion is mainly a pvp game interlinking pve aspects with pvp, which is content enough for the avid pvp gamers. Rankings and castle sieges exist. I played wow from launch and it is not worth going back to with all the recycling of old content and catering of the casual players, in one patch(3.2) months of raiding had been reduced to a few days of heroic...
Just for the record I've tried both the ps3 and 360 versions. My first impressions were that it is a great game both in terms of immersion and longevity. With that said the graphics and voice acting are superb. The online was quite enjoyable, with a few hickups now and then.. I'd recommend it to anyone suffering from the summer draught of gaming and is looking for a different kind of fps(different in terms of being set in an non-futuristic, modern or WW2 environment).
World of warcraft, is the casual gamer's mmo of choice in the western world. I played from launch until the first expansion was released. It was a hard nut to swallow but I accepted the direction they were taking. Quit for a while and only activated my account once wotlk was released, played the expansion for 9 days and had cleared the current raid content. That for me is not a game I want to play. Blizzard is going to places where I will not follow.
On topic, this is yet another...
It would most likely be dirt cheap and it's cooling system would most likely malfunction causing severe burns. Not to fear though, microsoft would cover the skin transplant in their extended warranty now acting as a life insurance.
I like that you use the word better in commenting on their performance. For the fact of the matter is that both their consoles are selling quite well considering their price point, targeted audience and the economic recession.
The team at guerilla games should be(and have been) commended for their work and efforts in bringing this gem to the public.
I can't wait for this game to be released, I love the idea of an online, 3rd person adaptation of a capture the flag game. Wonder if it will have multiple game modes.
The problem here lies in the fact that many of of the companies who supply us with entertainment haven't hopped on the digital distribution train and have failed to adapt their technologies to suit the market. I find that the Swedish legal system has succumbed to the threats from multinational companies on this issue. I truly hope that the court ruling will be discredited, for this is a class example of a bought court case!
But how do they intend to integrate it into the game? I am personally going bananas waiting for this game, they might want to try to add a sidekick for this to be integrated into the game seamlessly.
Not uncommon in the business world. It's quite typical of the Branson enterprises to employ such a business model. Unless one's informed of these practices the only ones affected by this will be gamers and consumers alike.
