I think EA is being very conservative with that estimate. I expect a absolutely massive drop in COD sales.
"Hope after AC3 they give the series a rest for while until next gen when they can start a new arc."
Not going to happen. Ubisoft has already said they want AC to be like COD.
This is the 4th one, but there will be many more. Ubisoft has already said they want to make the franchise AC a annual franchise like COD.
A Uncharted feeling is a very bad thing. I HATE linear scripted gameplay. The first part of the trailer felt to linear, and scripted. I dont want the AC franchise going in that direction at all.
I am also concerned about the bombs. AC2, and Brotherhood were already ruined by being way, way, way too easy. The bombs look like another broken overpowered element in the game, and thats the last thing we need. Hopefylly there at least be some type of difficulty level this time.

Its always good to have the superior product, and Blu-Ray discs are superior. They are also far more durable as scratches will not make your disc skip.
$199 is certainly what is needed at this point.
Actually that is totally false. There was no DW6:Xtreme Legends. Which is why I was expecting DW7: Empires, and I was quite surprised, and very dissapointed to see another Xtreme Legends.
Though I will probably end up buying DW7: Xtreme Legends because I skipped DW7, and DW7: Empires is probably a very long ways away.
If I had my way there would only be Empire games for the DW franchise, and nothing else.
FINALLY a PS3 exclusive worth buying. Actually I am on the fence about buying it. I really wanted DW7:Empires, but since I skipped DW7, and looks like it will be a very long time before we get DW7:Empires I will probably bite on DW7: Xtreme Legends.
At least its a PS3 exlcusive I am actually interested in. I am just not interested at all in any of the other PS3 exclsuives.
No games should come out as DLC all games should come out on disks. I sismply do not buy DLC games. it a publisher or devloper cann't put their game on a disk then to me it means it is not worth playing.
"Because arguably, Uncharted is the measuring stick for console gaming."
LOL measuring stick. No Uncharted game has even sold 5 million copies.
AC is NOT exclusive to the PS3, and will once again crush Uncharted's sales overall.
Why should they stop trying to kill off the used games market? Used games cost them a ton of money. I am just surprised that they haven't tryed to kill it off long ago, and are not trying harder.
Bigpappy the answer is really very simple. $299. The PS3 simply should NOT be at $299 at this point in its life. The PS3 has always been to expensive that is why it has struggled so much.
The PS3 desperately needs to be $199 this Holiday season, and should have already been at $199 by now.
Sept- has ZERO games I want. Oct- has ZERO games I want. Nov- has ONE game I want.
Hardly. I lose more, and more interest in gaming every year. Its pretty sad there is only 1 game worth buying the rest of the year.
Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the only game I am interested in the rest of the year. I am quickly approaching the point where no gmaes will interest me anymore, and I will be forced to just quit gaming.
No Liquid I only own a PS3, but Assassin's Creed: Revelations is the only game for the rest of 2011 that I am interested in. Its getting to the point where almost nothing interests me anymore.
Sept is total garbage nothing at all interests me.
Revelations is the only game I am interested in the rest of the year. I am really, really losing my interest in videogames. Not hardly anything interests me anymore.
If AC3 is set mostly in a modern setting it will be the first AC that I won't buy. The main selling point for me has always been playing in epic historical locations.
