Judging by your comment it seems you approve of the 360 updates but not the PS3?
I'm thinking what it boils down to is that regardless of the year head start that MS had, RRoD or SONY's fumbles out of the gate ( price, no dual shock, bad ports, ect ) MS has dropped the ball and relied too much on advertising, their core 4 exclusives and paying for exclusive DL content the last few years and now with the gimmicky Kinect.
From 2005 -2007 there was an onslaught of games for the 360 and everyone was brainwashed by the gaming media sites that the 360 ...

Too many other games being released right now on the PS3 for me to even worry about this game or MW3. I checked out the beta and it is what is, A BETA. Like some people have said, the download wasn't even 2gigs and to think that this is the full representation of what the game is then you're out of your mind. I thought it was okay but squad based MP isn't my shtick and so paying $60 plus buying the season pass isn't really justifiable for me.

I played it for few on the PS3 and my first impression was " this is what everyone is hemmin and hawin about? " Honestly.. It looked ok but nothing great, just another shooter to me and eventually I'll pick it up. When it turns into Platinum Hits.
I agree with what your saying and that should also factor in for Gold Membership. I rarely play online through Xbox now and download maybe 1 or 2 demos a month but yet I'm still paying $49.99 a year. That's what I like about PS+ because you can already play online for free but if you want more access to stuff then for me the $49.99 is justified. MS sorta did a middle finger to everyone by not allowing free online and knew they'd make bank because live was where it was at.
I use my 360 for one thing, games. I don't use any of it's features including Netflix, Facebook any of that stuff and I'm certainly not going to have it double as a cable box. Sometimes I wonder why I still continue too pay $49.99 a year when I don't even play online.
ICO used is still around $39.00 if you can find one and I don't know what Shadow is. I own both for the PS2 and $39.99 is a deal.

I beat it yesterday then traded it an hour later.
This game was exclusively made for the Dreamcast and was then ported to the PS2 with the extra content. I know this because I bought the game in 2000 when it was released.
