Because we're used to playing horror based games alone.
Because in this day and age some ppl get sick of multi-player and need a break from it.
Not every game needs to be Call of Duty like and rely solely on multiplayer.
I think Resi 5 should have required all players to complete the story alone before giving you the option of multi. I think ME3 should as well.

At the rate they're going maybe BioWare will be signed on to make the next Call of Duty game.
They wouldn't have gotten away with all the crap they pulled in ME2 if they did it in the first game but since it's a sequel and ppl want to see where the story goes and what influences thier decision from the previous games have in the sequels they can make it as 'Call of Duty' as they like.
I wish WhiteLightning was in charge of development for this game.
In reality I don't think the game will be half as good as what he is suggesting.
What ever happened to the days when after a bad sequel they would just move on to the next instalment and try to do a better job while still progressing the story. These reboots in movies and games are a waste of time and money.

If I had it to do over again I'd buy another DreamCast over 360/kinect. Good times with Sega's system over priced dlc and online play on 360. Not to mention DreamCast's games were better. 9.9.99 was one of the best days of my life. My Kinect has been collecting dust since Christmas waiting for somethng worthwhile to do.
It's important that a game like Gears sells well because that means there will be more ppl online to play with.
